Local radio presenter Graham Fisher has been appointed as the new Chairman of Stourbridge Radio Group Ltd. which broadcasts across the southern Black Country via its community radio station 102.5 The ’Bridge.
Graham says:
‘I am delighted to accept the challenge of this role at a particularly exciting period in the ongoing development of 102.5 The ’Bridge. Community radio is very much in its ascendancy and 102.5 The ’Bridge is increasingly proving itself a major force in the local radio and media scene. My role will include promoting the provenance of 102.5 throughout this area and beyond, and I look forward to seeing increasing awareness and favourable recognition of the marque across all sectors over the forthcoming months.’Graham’s appointment is part of a tranche of changes intended to consolidate and further develop the position of 102.5 The ’Bridge as the principal provider of community-based radio in the southern Black Country. He will be joined by new Board members including Andy Evans (Technical) Jez Timms (Head of Music), Brenda Cadwallader (Company Secretary) and Steve Jasper (Financial).
In simultaneously paying tribute to those who have previously assisted the station Chief Executive Officer of 102.5 The ’Bridge Alex Totney says:
‘I am thrilled that Graham has chosen to accept this role. He is a man who lives and breathes the Black Country and I feel he is the perfect ambassador to steer this station through its next phase. In welcoming him and the new Board to their roles I would also like to thank all those who have offered such sterling support over the past few years in developing The ’Bridge from a basic concept to the thriving radio station that it is today.’
