Ooops !!!!

Next door to me is the former Summerhill, thence an Innkeepers Lodge and recently taken over by Travelodge, who are slumming' it up a bit.

Imagine my surprise, nay indeed horror, that is is now called 'Travelodge Birmingham, Kingswinford Dudley'. This is yet another blatant attempt to ingratiate us with that strange race across the border!
However, in slightly more serious vein, I also do see it as part of the creeping 'Birminghamisation' of the area, not helped by the works of Frances Brett Young but which I thought had been stymied in part by John Prescott's failure in the creation of regions and Lynda Waltho's stirling efforts to get the Black Country on the o/s map. We are curious if readers have any stance or opinion on this?
